Cape Peninsula Two Oceans tour - Full day (drive and cycle)
Want to see the Cape Peninsula in an exciting way? Then join this tour for a unique experience of cycling and driving as you discover the beauty and mystique of the Cape of Good Hope. Spend as much time as you like at any of our stops along the way. We go from quiet and sedate beaches to rough and rugged coastal hideaways. We visit all the world famous sites such as Cape Point (the legendary and mythical meeting place of the two oceans), and the awe inspiring Chapmans Peak drive. Apart from these "biggies" there are hundreds (…well almost) of cute, quaint and fascinating little places that we'll visit too.
On this tour, you're welcome to chop and change the itinerary en route. Our guides are relaxed, friendly and open to almost any suggestions that you make.
Oh, did I mention cycling? Well, if at anytime you feel the BAT mobile is too stuffy for you, you're welcome to hop onto the mountain bikes to stretch your legs and fill your lungs with clean crisp air….. we'll catch up with you.
Itinerary
Once everyone has been picked up, we'll head on out to the False bay side of the Cape. Along the way we'll pass a number of historical landmarks, such as, the Groote Schuur hospital - where the world's first heart transplant took place. Further on, and many landmarks later, we hit the coastline - starting at Muizenberg, taking the mountain road for a spectacular view over the entire False bay and descend into a quaint fishing harbour which has remained unchanged for the past 100 years. The next scheduled stop is in Simonstown and soon after that, at the beach colonized by the little "swimming butlers" - penguins!
The drive becomes more scenic as we head on to the place of wonder, intrigue and mystique that is the Cape of Good Hope. Hear stories of tragedy and treachery. Witness the amazing fauna and flora and toast your arrival at the most south-western tip of the African continent.
Then, just when you thought the scenery couldn't get any better, we head on up and over Chapmans Peak drive, arguably the most scenic coastal drive in the world. After a short (or long) stop in the centuries old harbour, we head on home along the Atlantic seaboard at the "feet" of the Twelve Apostles.
You'll be dropped off any place that you want, but, we suggest your hotel, as after this tour you will be tired but inspired!
