Twilight Sunset ride

This is an experience not to be missed - a sunset bicycle ride.

With our clean air and bright blue skies, sunset in Cape Town becomes a time when stress and technology is forgotten and people come to admire the beauty of nature, as she softly fills the sky with her warm orange glow to signal the end of another day. And as the sun sets lower, each ray of light deepens in colour until the very last sliver of sun dips below the horizon. Sunset in Cape Town is an experience that will warm the cockles of your heart and make lovers fall in love again.

This is the perfect way of easing into the evening, by enjoying a Twilight Sunset ride along the Atalantic seaboard ending with a picnic to toast the majesty of nature with good company and a glass of sparkling bubbly.

Itinerary

We meet and start in the saddle of the mountain for a quick briefing and bike fitting and then slowly free-wheel our way down to Camps bay. As we cycle through this lively nook with it's pavement restuarants and vibey atmosphere, your guide will enlighten you on its history and cultural developement. You're welcome to spend extra time here for a stroll on the beach or to browse through the street markets for African curios. As we leave Camps bay, we're challenged by a slight up-hill. At this part, walking is acceptable - your guide will definitely do it! The rest of the route is easy cycling as we follow the coastline of little bays of natural unspoilt beauty which are over-looked by plush hotels and apartments precariously built into the sea cliffs and mountainside. By this time the sun will be quite low on the horizon as we cycle into Sea Point where we'll stop to admire the setting of the sun with a picnic basket and a glass of bubbly (wine or grape juice). After sunset we cycle a short way further where we'll end the tour at the oldest lighthouse in South Africa.
